Listed here is a 2005 4.8 shortblock. Motor came out of a friend's truck that had about 200,000 miles on it. Has the floating pin style connecting rods and uses the short style head bolts, but still has the cam sensor in the back and has a 24x reluctor. Negotiable on price.

Full disclosure: Truck started consuming coolant and it was discovered that the throttle body coolant passage was leaking and the engine was ingesting coolant. Unfortunately the damage was done and the motor started to have oil pressure issues. He stopped driving it and we swapped in another motor vs rebuild given the truck is his daily. Upon tearing down the motor after the fact the rod and main bearings actually don't look too bad given the truck had 200,000 miles on it. The crank looks like all it might need is just to be polished. The cylinders may or may not need to be bored, but upon initial look they aren't too bad, just alot of sludge at the bottom of where the piston skirt would be. The fluctuation of oil pressure was due to damage done to the cam bearings. The cam bearings really were torn up by the coolant. During the teardown the 3rd cam bearing actually pulled from it's bore in the block when I was pulling the cam. The bearing doesn't show any evidence of spinning in it's bore, but it was worn pretty good. Pics included of the bearing.

Figured I would offer this up for somebody to possibly turn into a iron 5.7 or other project. Again definitely negotiable being the whole thing has to be gone through. Really wouldn't want to ship. Looking for somebody close to Frederick MD
