Carbon Firebird fender inserts
#26
Holidays were rough!!! And Ive been really busy with my swap. Got a new set of deep inserts. This set is free to someone with a car thats not black or NBM that has the ability to take pics for me. I have ordered 20 sets, the first 20 car sets will be $55 a set shipped to the lower 48.
PM me if you want this first set and can get some good high quality pics for me. Thanks

OK got a butt load for yall. I was skeptical of them, before receiving them. However, I am Highly impressed with the quality and fit. They look very good on the car too. I am satisfied with the depth of the vent, sorry i couldn't find my tape measure to demonstrate the depth of them. The upper vent I'd guess is 3/4" to 1" deep, the bottom is 1/2"??? Keep in mind these were there FIRST ONES!! There are SLIGHT Imperfections in these, if you even see them. Jenson has stated that he has since perfected the mold. I like these soo much that I will probably purchase another set from him!!

I tried to take pics of every detail i could. If anyone requires more or certain pics, let me know. I have Not installed these yet, so let me know asap if you need any other pics while they are off.

Thanks Yurview!! FWIW, carbon is very easy to trim back with sand paper or a metal file. Love those pics too, makes me want to figure out how to get my little ones off the car. That 3M double sided tape doesnt play around.
I have perfect parts coming off the molds now, it took a while to perfect it, and of course it was one of those "duh, why didnt we do that in the first place." I only have 3 sets in my hands right now though with more coming out everyday. I should have all 20 by early to late next week.

[QUOTE=skorpion317;14500029]Hmmm...still not digging it.
What if they opened backwards, with the "inner section" sitting flush with the fender? Kind of like the original T/A vents:

That was my original thought on how to make them but I thought it would look dumb with the way the hole in the fender are. I guess you could cover up the entire hole in the fender and make them exactly like the ones on the first gen, but then they just look stuck on like an after thought. It would need a mount in the fender opening so they sat flush with the fender. That would be more expensive to make for one, and two I dont know exactly how great GM made these fenders. At least back in the stock opening slight imperfections wont go noticed as easily.
This was my thought process on that take on the design
