LS Engine?: Non-LS Part

396ci LT1 built for boost. The motor also makes for a nice mild NA setup as well (~400rwhp NA). The compression ratio is 9.0:1 and is built to handle a good amount of power. It made 610rwhp (Mustang dyno) in the previous configuration at 11psi. This engine is in perfect running condition and ready to go. Zero issue, fully assembled, clean fluids, very low mileage (less than 1500). The car was properly tuned since day 1.

This engine was built with a lot of input from Jeff “LJ” Stevens a while back. For those who don’t know, Jeff knows his stuff and had one impressive LT1 F-body. This engine was spec’d very close to his personal 383 which went 9.9@139 in a full weight 96 Z28 with a baby Vortech S-trim blower. He later moved on to a Vortech YSi blower and made some big power. This engine is not your average LT1 build.

Engine machining/labor:
-Clean block/final wash
-Bore 0.030” (actual 0.031”)
-Deck plate hone
-Deck block
-Clearance block for 3.875” stroke
-Replace cam bearings
-Replace soft plugs
-Install splayed caps
-Align hone mains
-Balance rotating assembly (internally balanced, neutral/zero balanced flywheel)
-Assembly piston/rod – full floating pins
-File fit rings
-Install cam bearings

The cam currently installed in the engine is extremely mild and essentially has a smooth idle offering near stock drivability. It’s by far the most mild-mannered LT1 stroker I’ve driven. I have an idle video that I made last week prior to pulling the engine. I’m also including an extra cam (custom grind for these heads) that makes significantly more power in this engine.

I have nearly all of the paperwork including flow numbers for the heads.

$4200
