Guys,

Putting some feelers out there on my AFR heads. I am working on building a 383 and I REALLY don't want to sell these things, but I don't want to go with a dished piston on the 383 due to the 59cc combustion chamber.

I am working on pulling the heads off now to get some pictures up (within a week or two).

I really hate to see these go, I feel like I have an emotional attachment to these! They made 480 RWHP through a 9 inch (and on one of the lowest reading Dynojet 248's around - by 10-15 HP) with a 230/232 cam (F13). The car ran 7.17@98.5 with that same setup (aruond 3700 lb race weight), but this was after I started losing compression due to ring issues on #7. The power was awesome!

I have had these on the car for around 15000 miles and I refreshed the heads less than 3000 miles ago with new AFR 0.650" lift springs (forget the part number) all individually shimmed to obtain ideal and consistent seat pressure. Since the refresh I have not been to the track or any hard driving honestly, most of it was spent taking my daughter out for rides so I wasn't trying to be stupid in the car.

I prefer to deal locally on this to avoid shipping, but will entertain it. I will also be selling my cam (post to come) that is in the car now. I had a lifter start to fail and lock on the F13 cam and put in a 236/244. I can work a deal on the entire setup with LS7 lifters and pushrods (which I will mark per cylinder upon removal).

As soon as I pull these I will post pictures. If I get some interest I will speed up the process

What would these heads to for compression on say a stock LQ4 block?

On the stock bottom LS1 I was running 11.59:1 with 0.040" gaskets and 1 cc reliefs, piston 0.005" out of cylinder at TDC.

FYI - I calculate 12.2:1 on an LQ4, -0.005 piston to deck and flat tops without reliefs.

Is 12.2 asking for trouble with 91-92 gas in a weekend fun toy?

It also depends on your cam selection and youDCR. I was running 8.7:1 DCR.

I may be interested, I have an LS2 SBE with flat tops .007 out of the hole, and no valve reliefs. That's should be a healthy 12.3-12.4 I would think.
How could I calculate SCR and DCR with this comp cam.. 235/243, .621/.624, 113 ?

I am safe on PTV right now, although I don't know the exact measurement yet... I believe these afr205's actually provide more PTV than the stock 243's, I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere anyhow.

There is a DCR calculator online you can download and install, I like to use that.

http://en.freedownloadmanager.org/Wi...ator-FREE.html

That cam is very similar to mine, but mine is on a tighter LSA with ground in advance. I had to flycut to leave enough room.
