Default Front plate law

I want to know the masses and police officer perspective on this upcoming law revision.

That's awesome! I lived in Texas for 5 years and never ran a front plate. Nice to see they are finally going to legally eliminate that requirement!

It's probably not going to happen this year, but I am just happy someone out there in the legislature is trying to get it passed.

A similar bill is proposed every session. And usually never gets past committee.

Man is it that time of the year already? This subject comes up every year, and the bill gets shot down every year, I don't see this year being any different.

Won't pass, you have to think a lot of companies are involved far as making plates, the material, the coating, etc. I am sure they would lobby your local elected officials to make sure some thing like this doesn't pass and potentially cut in to their profits.

They fixed the original bill to include the fine associated with no front plates, so come September you can get ticketed for front plate again. Bill revision was passed through the legislature and signed by Perry.

My coupe has antique plate, one. They don't even give you a front. No registration or inspection sticker either. Love it. Not to mention I renew registration every 5 years. Lol

Rear plate is all most will see anyway. Lol

That should have no effect on this. They could still issue two plates just like before, just not be douchefucks by forcing us to put one on the front. I've never had a front plate on ANY of my cars, I got one ticket for it and got it dismissed.

A fellow worker told me this morning that hs daughter got pulled over last night by a DPS trooper. She is a looker, wish I had a picture. He pulled her over because her front license plate light didnt' work. What?

Every time a new session meets this bill is proposed in some way or another and every year it gets referred to a committee and dies. Don't get excited about it. I have to check on house bills and new laws for my job and I always keep track of the new house bills pertaining to license plates and it never goes anywhere. Check for yourself;

Status: 2013-03-12 - Left pending in committee.

I don't think I've owned a car with a working front license plate light. heh
