Default Group Buy - philistine aftermarket clutch master cylinder.

I am setting up a group buy for the clutch master cylinder upgrade that 'philistine' has developed. I will be taking orders at the preorder/group buy cost ($350) until the end of this month, 7/31/2014. The item specifics and my PayPal information are listed below. PM or email if you have any questions.

Here is the first offering for an aftermarket clutch master cylinder built exclusively for the Cadillac CTS-V community (2004-2007).

The clutch master cylinder kit contains the following:

* Tilton Racing master cylinder 76-875 w/custom threaded rod-end

* -4AN braided hose, 15" length with 90 degree and straight ends

* -4AN crush washer

* T56 slave end-fitting adapter

* -4AN male flare to -3AN male flare

* 7/16" E-clip retainer

* Threaded clamp collar

* Neoprene washer/gasket

* Stainless steel fasteners

* 7075-T6 cylindrical adapter

* 7075-T6 flange

* 7075-T6 rod-arm

This is designed to work with aftermarket and factory clutches using the existing clutch reservoir. This kit is completely bolt-on and fully integrates with the factory equipment to retain the safety switch pedal engagement and cruise control. There is no need for a pedal stop - everything you need is provided in the kit! It assembles using common tools and is completely reversible if you choose to revert back to the factory master cylinder. Installation time will vary but ideally should take 1.5 hrs or less. You do not have to remove the clutch pedal assembly!

This clutch master cylinder kit replaces the factory unit to provide full disengagement and faster engagement of aftermarket and OEM clutch systems. Tilton Racing master cylinders have a reputation for quality and performance. This kit provides more hydraulic force and volume and ~10% increase of clutch pedal firmness. This will give some relief to notchy shifting and put an end to blocked gears and double pumping attributed to the weak factory hydraulics. This kit aides in the preservation of your existing clutch, future clutch and transmission.

Pre-Order/Group Buy Price

The price is set for $350. Paypal br_1868@hotmail.com. Include full shipping address and product description e.g. "philistine clutch master cylinder".

* Free shipping to the 48 states (additional charges for international).

* No escalation or hidden fees

* Warranty included

This is a pre-order/group buy so expect 4 weeks for delivery – expect shipments to arrive to your door early August. This kit will be offered at this price for the month of July.

do i have to worry about everything else being stock?

like, having a good master cylinder won't speed up the decay of anything else and force me to do a slave cylinder/clutch replacement sooner?

/dumb question

Nice job Brian/Jaysen for keeping this kit advertised. It's too cool of a project to have it's threads deleted.

No worries about stock parts wearing out faster because of a new master.

I did my master with a wilwood unit. The pedal assembly is a PITA to get in and out, but worth it being able to shift at high rpms

No need to remove the pedal assembly with this one - everything bolts right in. It's a good feeling to get back to shifting hassle-free, smooth and easy!

There is some discussion regarding bleeding of the clutch and replacing the master cylinder definitely requires this. I'll share a few things here.

I have the Power Motive bleeder to make 'quicker' work with the clutch bleeding. I can bleed it pretty fast using that and a remote bleeder. The cool thing is you can bleed from 2 places now. You can use the 'extra' port on top of the MC to bleed the MC itself.

I spoke with Tilton engineering to provide some clarity on bleeding the master cylinder. Basically, that top port is designed for a banjo fitting since the design is somewhat modular. However, during a fresh install you can bleed the master cylinder so you are not introducing more air into the system - using that port but that is optional and an additional feature. This does NOT bleed the clutch though, just the MC. You still have to bleed the clutch via remote bleeder (if installed) or from under the car by loosening the bleeder on the slave cylinder itself.

Bleeding the clutch on this platform is somewhat a pain. In my experience you can do it pretty quickly and get you on the road. I've used one bottle of Motul RBF600 in a Motive Power bleeder and cycled it 3 times. After a week of driving, I hooked everything back up and evacuated a few more tiny bubbles from the remote bleeder at the slave.

I'm sure there are a variety of ways of getting the air out but I have found doing a follow-up after a week worked very well. Let it sit over night (no driving, let it rest) and do another bleed on a Saturday morning.

The alternative is a late night marathon clutch bleed and a lot of beer to pass the time.
