Does anyone have any Spicer info?
I bought a roller with a Moser 9 in it. The yoke has "SPICER 59" stamped on it. I found a large download from Spicer but could not find anything referencing "59". I'm trying to find out what u-joint and straps I need for this.
I sent pictures to Moser of all the markings I could find on the rear hoping they kept a log of what they built. No luck with them.

measure the width of the yoke and diameter of the machined part. Any rearend shop will get you a U joint.

1310 Spicer Series: 1 1/16″ Cup Diameter (Dim C – Diagram A) 3 7/32″ length (Dim B – Diagram A) Certain Ford applications have 2 cups 1 1/8 Diameter. 1330 Spicer Series: 1 1/16″ Cup Diameter (Dim C – Diagram A) 3 5/8″ length (Dim B – Diagram A) Certain Ford applications have 2 cups 1 1/8 Diameter. Slightly stronger than 1310, Used in 5.0 Mustangs. Also available: Performance Dynamic Cryo Joint.

3R Saginaw Series: 1 1/8″ Cup Diameter (Dim C – Diagram A) Retained with internal clip 2 5/8″ (Dim B – Diagram A). Most common GM joint. Horse power range up to 700 in road racing and circle track. Solid drag racing U-Joint can accomodate most sportsman classes. Also available: Performance Dynamic Cryo Joint.

1350 Spicer Series: Manufactured with OEM tolerances and treated with our Cryogenic Process to yeild the strongest U-Joint available. For drag racing applications a solid non-lube design U-Joint is recommended because of the tremendous initial shock load, or short duration of high torque the joint must be able to withstand.



How tight should I tighten my u-bolts?

1310 series and 1330 series should be tightened to 17 ft/lbs and 1350 series to 20 ft/lbs. You should never tighten the nuts on any u-bolt excessively. This will cause the cap to distort and the u-joint will fail prematurely.

Thanks Bob. That's some good info.
Is the 1350 larger than either of those? I measured roughly 1 1/4" on the machined surface of the yoke where the cups sit.
I also measured roughly 3 3/4"" on the width. Again rough measurements with a tape measure on the yoke.

You're welcome. The 1350 measures approx 3-5/8 wide (3.622) with a cap diameter of approx 1-1/8 inch (1.188) for all four caps.
When I order 9 inch rears I always have them come with 1350 yokes, but not everyone does so you'll indeed need to confirm what yoke size it has. Bob

So the SPICER 59 stamped on the yoke doesn't tell us anything?
Also looking at their site, I see the U-bolts & nuts for sale. This yoke I assume uses the straps and bolts since the holes are threaded. Do you sell these?

You're welcome. I'm not seeing anything definitive on that stamping.
I don't carry the U Bolts, you should be able to source them at a local Napa or you could call over to Moser at 260 726-6689 and ask for Foz.

I didn't find any official info on the SPICER 59 designation, but I took some measurements and the caps are 1.190" and the width is 3.640", so 1350 it is!
