Exclamation Aluminum valve cover pcv options.

Ok guys as the title states I have a 02 WS6 with fast intake and ls6 pcv conversion. Now my question is if I run a catch can do I need a valve cover breather or no for these aluminum valve covers?

ANYONE running an LS has aluminum valve covers. ALL LS valve covers are aluminum! You REALLY don't know what you are working with do you???

You should also know that you don't run breathers AND a PCV. It's either one or the other. If you're running breathers with the PCV still connected to the intake you're effectively pulling in unmetered air.

Take a look at this thread for general PCV routing methods.

I'm assuming your valve covers have an oil fill cap. If so, that can be drilled and tapped for a fresh air inlet a little easier than the cover itself.

What if you run a 4150 style throttle body, what would you do with the clean air side?

If you run speed density you can run a breather and PCV. The breather is the "clean" air side and the PCV still acts as the dirty side.

Thanks. That is what I need I need to do. I am in Speed Density. I will put a small breather on the clean side. I do not have that style valley cover that is in the diagram.
