Default Connecting wideband to standard hp tuners

Hey guys, I've been looking for videos on how to do this, I found an old one and followed the steps but it didn't work. Does anyone have a more recent link I could use? Preferably with minimal steps cuz I'm a total noob. I also thought I heard somebody say I could send my cable to hptuners and get it upgraded for $150, does anybody know if this is true? Thx

Browse through the topic a bit. Updated instructions for the newer versions of HPT are in there.

Also look at Ed Mowton's video on You Tube, it's fairly straight forward how to set up the software.

Be advised, if you're running a 2000 vintage 0411 PCM load from a Silverado, the A/C doesn't have a pressure sensor. You can use the link that JoeNova posted, just have to make sure you use the correct pin on the PCM.

The old PCMs still use Red connector pin 14 as a 5v input, even if they don't have A/C from the factory. You can still use it exactly like any other PCM with no differences at all. You can also use EGR, fuel tank pressure, and Tank1/Tank2 fuel level as 5v inputs.

Just use a wideband that has serial out and plug into a second usb port on your laptop. Thats way better than runing through a/c or egr IMO.

Joe - thanks that was part of my issue - videos i found were older versions

I have the input setup

i created the error

and the afr is on my scanner screen now, i hope to check it out on the car shortly. Thank you both

lsx power - which wideband would you suggest ? I have an aem but maybe i'll get rid of it if it would make my life easier

Default test the input

You can verify the input by connecting the positive pole of a 1.5v battery to the wire that connects the O2 sensor to your PCM and grounding the negative pole. The reading on the scanner should approximate the AFR that correlates to the battery voltage based on your equation.

AEM Uego is my personal favorite. Spartan 2 is great if you don't need a gauge.

Most newer aem have serial out I beleive. The last one we had here was a blue wire going off memory.
