Default Dipstick tube for L33 5.3 with LS3/2 oilpan

swapping 2004 Tahoe 5.3 - I think that’s an L33 - as a POC into Lotus Esprit- updating other thread that was moved to this forum... but it appears the dipstick tube-809-12570787 I thought would work will not. Seems to bottom out and can’t seat correctly - and it has to be bent around the starter but that seems ok. am I using the wrong tube altogether?

got the motor running and need to seal it up. Thanks and I will link the other thread when I’m not on the phone in a cold garage!... who thought the south got this cold!

I’m not used to this! No extra kerosene available for the garage heater... And my wife forceses me to sleep under a huge blanket from the closet I haven’t seen before.

I know on my ls2 tbss the dipstick went into the oil pan, and was diff from a normal one. I also had to plug off the original dipstick hole in the block. Figured this out after chasing a dam oil leak when i swapped to a 5.3!

LOL- I guess you have a point! I guess it could be worse!

I saw that there was a pan just like this one with a different dipstick location- but i didnt see on mine. I might have to find and drill? i am thinking i have the dipstick and dipstick tube for that application, not the one that goes into the block- where i am trying to place it. I put about 5 quarts in it... should be good for a test start!
