Anyone still use sloppy stage II?
Or is this old news? Most places have it for $288 but Jegs has it on their ebay store for $224 (pretty sure its an error but they might have to honor the ad).

I installed the elgin version (e1840p) a couple months ago but haven't had a chance to tune it. I think I paid $250.

Alright so I just re-watched one of Happel’s videos on installing the cam-he has a link to the “sloppy stage II” cam and it’s an Elgin E1839P: rpm range 2000-4800, .575(intake and exhaust valve lift), 220/224 intake/exhaust duration on 112 lsa.
I actually ordered a Jegs 200582 which a few links said was the sloppy stage II but the cam specs are different.
jegs 200582:
.585/.582 lift, rpm 2500-6500, 228/230 duration on a 112 lsa.
another search on sloppy mechanics wiki links the Elgin e1840P which has .585/.585 lift, 112 lsa, 283/286 duration. The wiki page links to the jegs 200582,
mom guessing either choice are pretty similar or he used a couple slightly different cams for different builds?

Jegs 200582 is all of this. From the website:
"1997-2004 GM LS Series (Gen III)
Lift: 0.585"/0.585"
Duration @ 0.050": 228°/230°
Advertised Duration: 283°/286°
Lobe Separation: 112°
RPM Range: 2,500-6,500 RPM"
With that, you can see that you listed the advertised duration for the Elgin cam. From Elgin's website http://www.elginind.com/ and
http://catalog.elginind.com/elgin/technicallookupPage# , they are the same specs.

I just finished installing the Elgin E1839P. The 2000-4800 rpm range is an obvious print error. Probably discouraged a few people that did not know any better.

The Elgin cams aren't really the best cams. Their ONLY selling point is price.
They are rebranded by JEGS and Trick Flow (Summit) and another smaller retailer. Their lobe profiles are pretty lazy so you don't have to run a ton of valve spring with them, but performance leaves a little to be desired.

Well this is for my $400 5.3 swap in my C4 and I didn’t wanna pay more than $300 for a cam or any other parts since I might as well put the funds toward a 6.0 instead. I’ve got pac 1218 springs and it’s gonna stay n/a. Car is a manual and will be a street/roadcourse toy.

Agree with your points about price and re-sellers.
I expect the 220/224 duration and 0.575/0.575 lift to be a desirable improvement over the stock LQ4 cam!!.....lol
Great for guys like me going reasonably quick on the cheap!

like I said in the OP I’m pretty sure they had it priced incorrectly since the eBay ad I bought it from didn’t have the cam specs-just the 200582 and jegs had the same cam in another ad with full specs listed. fast shipping. Woo hoo lol

I recently installed the E1839P cam into my LQ9. The operating range is definitely a misprint. That cam pulls right off idle, all the way through 6K easily.
This cam has a great rumble at idle. It is making MORE power-EVERYWHERE-over the LS9 cam (on a 115.5 LSA) that I pulled out.
I debated on going with the E1840P but was dissuaded from doing so by wise people on this forum. I'm glad I followed that good advise. The -39 cam sounds and runs great.
