Default AC Compressor Shot?

So this Spring my AC compressor has been a little noisy. It has been blowing ice cold however .... until today. While driving into work today and in stop and go traffic noticed that my engine had shut off. I was able to start it rolling in neutral. The AC was no longer cold and I could smell burnt rubber. I made it into work with no issues and the AC off. I noticed that the burn smell was coming from the AC compressor and was actually smoking down there. The belt was still on. Does it sound like the compressor itself is seizing up? Keep in mind, It has 327,000 miles and it's the original compressor.

I went ahead and ordered a GPD kit that has everything I need at 180 shipped.
Hey .... 327k on that compressor and had never cracked open that system in 19 years ... pretty damn good!

OK... the compressor is locked up. I kicked it on while idling and it stalled the engine.

I'm very impressed with the GDP pieces. I wound up having to replace the liquid line from the condensor to evaporator due to the orifice tube being stuck. Just wrapped up the install and am very happy with it.

I got it from Rockauto. Not sure about posting links out here ... as I don't think they are a sponsor.

My GDP compressor died after 2 years. I live about 2 miles from work, and I am only home to drive the car about half of the year.
