Default Cam too big? Turbo LH6, tick turbo cam

Posted a while back in the boosted section and really didn't get much.

Setup is a Huron T4 kit with 78/75 BB turbonetics
SBE LH6 aluminum 5.3
6 speed car
street car mainly, track car on the weekend

I have a Tick Stg2 LS2 turbo cam that I'm pretty sure I'm well past returning at this point.
Cam specs are: 235/231 .635/.605 114+6 LSA

How do you all think this will work versus a BTR stage2 5.3 turbo cam or similar?

I really don't have the $ in the car budget right now and have been unsuccessful selling it so I am seriously considering running it.

Thanks for any input.

Jon

I think it's too big especially for a stick turbo 5.3 that is mainly street.

It can be made to work, but not likely with that turbo.

No such thing as to big with a turbo 5.3 it just might not be the rpm range and torque curve u want but it at wot it will make boost and make ppl **** there pants I had the same cam in a 5.3 when my shortblock spun a bearing. I pulled it out of my 5.7 and threw it in a bone stock 5.3 and still went low 6s with it but u may not love it on the street

What would be not to love on the street?

I should add that I'm running 4.10 gears, 28" tires, and the t-56 is a MH3 (zr1 2.29 ratio first gear)

Well maybe I shouldn't say street driving in general. The way I drive on the street with no tag is different than you probably drive but with a stick car you can keep it in or out of boost as much as u want so it probably will be way better for you. With my th400 and a stall that waits till almost 4k to come in it isn't as good

Anything can be made to work, but why make it more difficult. It's a big cam 5.3 with a turbo and a 6 speed car. I anticipate it'll be peaky with no lowend and drive lousy out of boost.

he said basically what I'm trying to say more or less. It won't be a beast out of boost but most 5.3 motors aren't very great without boost. I really think you won't be as disappointed as you think tho

Well I guess I'll just see if I can sell this thing then. Damnit, I figured.
