Talking Sloppy Stage 2 Cam lifters and push rods??

Anyone still using the sloppy stage 2? Jegs #555-200582
I want to get it for my 5.3 build but am wondering if i need new lifters and push rods, yes i know i should replaced them anyways but if possible id like to get away with stock.
its a 2002 5.3 with 72lb injectors, LS6 intake, ARP head bolts. nothing special just a street toy. shooting for 450ish crank, i might be nuts.

pac1218 springs are really all that is required... if you want to replace lifters then you will get into head gaskets etc.... unless they are noisey or you know bad, I wouldn't.... Pushrods be fine as well, but you can always update stronger/same length as stock.

In that case no I wouldn’t replace them at all, and 450 ish crank go would be like 5 or 6 lbs of boost witch is NOTHING.
id go for at least 10 and that should put you at 450+ at the wheels and make a very fun street motor

alright thanks for the advice. didn't realize how much boost affected hp.

A lot. Most cam-only 5.3s on 10-12 PSI are making ~550 at the wheels (650 or so at the flywheel).

Ls3 intake can be ran on cathedral heads. Currently doing it on a 4.8.

How is the throttle responce? And how is the drivability? Did you drive that engine with cathedral port intake? If you did, would you say the LS3 intake is an improvement over the
cathedral port intake?
Back in the day A friend of mine had a rectangular port intake on a oval port headed big block, and that thing ran like a scalded dog. So this has me curious.

in theory, 14.7 lbs of boost is adding 1 atmosphere to the engine and doubling HP from NA form. of course this does not account for parasitic losses and inefficiencies in the setup.

so in theory a bone stock 295HP 5.3 should make 590hp with 14.7 PSI boost. It is scale-able to a point. take your NA number and you can calculate a rough PSI you need to get the output you want.

450 crank HP..........Maybe 350 crank Hp. That cam is way to big for a otherwise stock 5.3. If you are running a stock stall converter, 216/220 is about the biggest. With a 3600 Stall or around there, I wouldn't go to much larger than a TSP 224 .600/.660 on a 112 LSA.
72 lb injectors is ridiculous. 36-lb is more than enough for your needs.
What vehicle is this going in? Vehicle Weight and intended purpose will be a huge factor in cam choice.
A NNBS/TBSS Intake might be a better option if you plan to keep it under 6300 rpm.
There is so many things that need to be answered before an accurate answer can be given.

He said its for a turbo build.

And the SS2 cam is the new "bandwagon cam". Everyone has to buy it whether or not it works, because it was cheap and they were told to.
