Default A4 4g vs A8 Hell Cat vs A8 6g

Was out in good ol Mexico last night getting some friendly runs in. Ran into a Hell Kitty. A friend of mine got this run on video from his Regal GS...of course it has to be the one where I start a car length behind and don't hear the honks, but I still reeled the HC back in and got up to his door before letting out. 4th gen is my old car...it took the win by a car length. We ran 3 times...one run, I got a slight hit and won the race, the other I didn't hear the honks again and just let out.

Nice

are you still on full stock exhaust?

id really like to run a stock hellcat with my car. But I think it would come around me eventually. They trap high 120s in the same air I trap 125-126. Pretty sure I’d pull ahead at first especially on my drag pack

I have CA cat deletes, the rest is stock. After I installed those, I started winning some races against my old car. On stock exhaust and 93 he was getting by 3 cars to 140. Then E85 knocked it down to 1-1.5 cars. Then I yanked the cats and reversed the role. I contribute some of that to getting my Virtual torque tables correct.

Also, Last night I was touching the soft limiter on my 4-5...forgot to test it after making some TCM changes last weekend. I fixed that today...a lot of trial and error when you do your own tuning.

I think you would pull one for sure. I was slightly pulling this one well into 5th gear.

Gotcha. Deleting the cats is 80% of the gain. You’ll only pick up 5-10 more hp with long tubes at the bol on level from what I’ve seen

Yup...precisely why I am not doing headers on this car. Cheap ones don't fit well and good ones like Kooks or ARH are too expensive for minimal gains. If your chasing a bolt-on record or something, it would make sense.

Thanks...I wasn't really looking to sell, but my friend really wanted to buy it and I got a good price for it. It's been putting in a lot of work this year. It beat a Procharged 6th gen from a dig and 40 roll pretty badly last weekend. Not sure what all was done, I am guessing baby P1 on a stock car and somebody who don't know E92 ECM's tuned it. Even a entry level boosted 6g should trap upper 120's, the 4g is a mid 120's car.

I've seen a few quick fatcats, but typically they aren't all that impressive. Just too damn porky

Sorry guys. Haven't posted in years, but Fat Cat? Lollllllll Wow!! Yes, the Hellcat is heavy, but.......... Not fast? I read and re-read the post and anything can happen on the street. I have a 16 Charger Hellcat, with Nitto drag radials as my only mod. I run 10.8s - 11.0s @130 in 75 degree weather at Atco. I'm trying to figure out what is meant by "Porky" or not impressive. Laughing my *** off! My 03 Z06 ran 11.8 @118, stock. My 2011 CTS-V ran 11.8 @117 bone stock, except for Nittos, before my cam and 2.4 pulley. My Hellcat runs a 1 F...N.. 30 quarter mile stock!!!!! Others are running similar and you guys are saying slow? Wow! I'm a car guy. 05 GTO, with the old HPE cam, 100 shot, etc and that thing ran 11.2 @125 on a 100 shot back in 06. My 86 GN was running 11.6 @114 back in the 90s. I'm saying all this to say, cars today are so much different, even if they are 5,000lbs, they are so far advanced, that nothing is really slow now. TrackHawks are running mid 11s stock. Yes, saw it with my own eyes. OP, you beat the driver! I gave my buddy's bolt on 17 SS a two car jump and beat him by truck lengths. Several runs! Sorry, but I had to respond

I run just as quick as you with a bolt on ss

ive never seen a totally stock hellcat trap 130 in 75f. Best I’ve seen was 128 in 0 DA

10s isn’t that impressive for a 700 hp car. 10s aren’t that impressive in general these days. I feel slow most days

Hellcat is not slow. It is slow for the power it has. I seen them trap 125 126 at Cecil. Down here 122 124. Good race for a ZL1 which has almost 100 less HP. Good race for a Trinity with a tune and tire. Good race on a roll for a C6z which is undergeared and has 200 less HP. And is old.

Evidently you didn't watch the video...I started a car back, hell cat got a slight hit and I still pulled it back up top. There is no beating the driver on this one LOL.

beating Hellcats with ancient n/a technology and LBO direct injection. No your full weight 5.0 can’t do that.
