Default Guesses on track times....

As soon as I get my Nitrous tune done, I'm gonna be hitting the track for some N/A and Nitrous runs. Any guesses to what I should/could expect? Assuming good traction of course. Nitrous runs will be with a window switch set at 3000/6000

I assume you're talking about the car in your signature?

What size shot? Unless there is a specific reason I'd set that window switch a little higher than 6000. N/A I'll say low to mid 11's at 117-120 with optimal traction and track conditions

It’s a 75-225hp kit but I’ve never went over 150. I was using 6000 because the rev limiter was set to 6100 and on spray used to bounce off that on shifts.

Is it just me or does a 6100 rev limiter feel like jerkin off next to a naked chick. Could be worse but not near the same warm fuzzy feeling as going all the way

LOL! That's what it was set at before I did these mods. I don't know what I should set it at now but I'm sure I shouldn't go too high since it's a stock bottom end still. Any suggestions?

Go to 6500 first. But I have a feeling that cam could go to 7000 without blinking an eye..

Not sure why your tuner would leave you at the stock rev limiter after a heads and cam upgrade, but you should definitely bump it up to more like 6500-6800 depending on where it peaks

My bottom end will hold up to 6500? Wish I knew where the cam peaked at but the dyno sheet was in mph instead of rpm.

Yes the stock bottom end can easily support 6500 rpm. My guess is you're peaking around 6200 give or take, so around a 6500 shift point would be good starting guess

Oh, that's good news. I'll try 6500 to start then. So, I'd assume the window switch would be 6500 also? Or do I want it to cut off a bit lower?

Absolutely, it will handle 67-6800 all day long. Some, like myself, go 7000+

There is zero reason your tuner should have left it at 6100 and at the VERY least he should have brought spinning it higher up to you.

Well these are just rough guestamates, but I'm sure they are close. Really the right thing to do is have the car properly tuned so things can be correctly adjusted, and knowing where it peaks and falls, so you can set the best shift points

He did ask me if it was a stock bottom end so I'm assuming that's why he left it maybe? I am taking it back for a nitrous tune and a bit of a low rpm surge issue so I'll have him up the limiter and shift points and go from there.

The fact that he didn't do this before has me questioning his knowledge. I'm sorry but this is elementary. Know what I mean?

Dano 00TA- Are there any other good tuners in your area? The one you used this time seems questionable.

This was the only tuner in the area. I did check reviews before going there and from the reviews he looked really good. It is kinda strange that he'd leave the shift points and limiter where it was though. I figured he was just playing it safe but as I know now, 6500+ is no problem.
