Exclamation New mods and results for Detoxx with the D1X

Recently had a few things done to the car in preparation for a half mile event back in September. With that being the plan I had the car shipped down to Futral Motorsports for the mods I wanted to do. The original plan was just to swap to ARH 2 long tubes, ProCharger race IC, change my 5th and 6th gear trans ratios to ZR1 ratios, and have it tuned on Ignite red 114. Well things changed once RPM opened up my transmission. So the new mods are as follows:

ProCharger Race IC
ARH 2” headers
ID1700X’s
Mighty Mouse race can
Holley LS valve covers
RPM level VI trans w/ ZR1 5th and 6th gear ratios

So previous numbers for the car were 932/755 on 19psi and ethanol content was 73%.

Baseline pull before the mods were done it did 928/763. Remember this was Sept in Louisiana so shop temps were in the 100’s vs 80’s when the previous high was put down.

After mods it did 938/770 on the pump e85.

949/776 by just pouring in some ignite red 114.

953/776 by adding 1 degree.

972/792 after a few more tweaks.

After completion it did 980/797 on 21.5psi and 83% ethanol content.

Total timing at 17* btw. We could do more but it’s still SBE and we are already pushing it like crazy.
I’m sure with timing in the 19-21 with that badass fuel it would easily be in the 1000’s but I’m happy where it’s at.

Not only was I stoked with the new numbers but once I drove it to feel how amazing the trans felt. I never had major trans issues previously except for the occasional lockout of 3rd on a hard shift. After the upgrades RPM did however I wish I would have upgraded it years ago. Drives and shifts so smooth.

The new power is awesome and the increase in midrange feels amazing. Not bad for a little ole D1X headunit.

I swapped injectors for future upgrade purposes. I don’t see myself going to a bigger blower but I do have a smaller pulley for this one that will come in handy if I ever need it.

I love the new catch can setup. I previously had a monster RX can. It did its job but it didn’t fit in the engine bay so I had it mounted by the radiator cradle. I like this the MM setup mounts and its functionality. Not to mentions Dave’s customer service.

Headers for great and even give it a different tone. Nothing crazy but I notice it.

Forgot to mention the increase in psi was from a new air filter. Not pulley swaps or anything funny just a brand new clean filter. Old one lost boost. We cleaned it and it picked back up where it used to be and then when the new one was put on it gained boost.

Last but not least the intercooler. It’s a big one but it does it’s job. Dropped iat’s from 112 at the end of the pull previously and now it’s at 99.

All in all I’m very happy with this car and setup. Always have been. I try to keep it as simple as possible. It’s winter now so I’ll go grab some 1/4 mile traps in the spring and try the half mile’s again as well since we didn’t get to run that day. Other than that it performs great on the street when I run people. The LS3 is still going strong.

This wasn’t meant to be this long but I tried to share as much info as possible.

Honest question, why not go with a bigger blower at lower boost to achieve the same numbers? Wouldnt it be easier on the blower/engine? I have a f1a and am new to the blower game, if i knew i could make those numbers with a d1x i might have gone that route.
