Default Fbody - On3 76mm winter build

My last budget fbody build was a 02 ta, cxracing/on3 76mm build, the bare minimum. Made 544/576 on 11lbs with a sbe ls1, 243heads, gm hotcam, thru a t56, stock 10 bolt.

New build- (doing everything over again but upgrading all the things i shorted out on during my last build, and still not breaking the bank)

99 camaro
full on3 kit this time. Cx racing hotside doesnt allow you to change plugs without removing both headers. Pita, (even tho that build just flat out worked...it still looked ugly under the hood and the hotside was cheaply made.)

-ljms stage 2 turbo cam
ported 853heads
ls6 intake
Stage 3 t56
moser 9 inch

pics before starting

Horrid picture, but it felt like christmas when the turbo kit arrived...the tree helped.
only took 3 days to ship

i wont bore everyone with every single part, but i loved how much dense the piping was compared to what i had before. Everything seemed very quality.

It was a little bit of a struggle by myself but man, it looks GREAT.

the only thing i had to do was grind out a small piece of my k member (maybe an inch) in order to get to the backside of the manifold to merge pipe connection, took 5 minutes, not a big deal, was all worth it!

Oops, They sent me the 70mm instead of the 76mm, hoping they get my email to swap them out soon. Until then ill have to do some buttoning up around the engine but the build is going great so far, very simple and clean!

The manifolds definently look like new truck manis, but idk. I didnt have ac anyways, and yea the alt will be relocated, hopefully the kit works better this round, i know it can be a pain to line it up with the belt route

Nice just making sure someone didn't finally come out with an ac kit that keeps the stock k and ac. Been years since I've seen someone do it. Hope the install goes well.

Nice build, I have the On3 kit with AC - we were making almost 550 at the wheels then losing fuel - older pumps not up to snuff. Just replaced them with dual Ractronix 340's.. Good luck when it's finished.

trying to figure out drain in this picture. Ended up using braided steel lines with a 5/8 drain hose. Was pretty short, worked great in the last build, no need to change anything this time around

Some nice progress! I have the same turbo kit you do. At one point i was manual also. I ran my drain line into the side of the pan. No need for a scavenging pump on mine. My car has since been auto swapped and l33 swapped. Made 741whp and 749 wtq on 17#’s with the converter locked. Ran a best of 9.67@146 on 19-20#’s. Absolutely cannot complain about the quality of the kit! Im very satisfied. If you have any questions feel free to ask!!

At first i had the on3 76/65 and i was able to get a 10.1@140 with that. Then i was given a damaged on3 78/75 and thats what i ran the 9.67 with. Ljms stage 2 cam in a l33 with the 799’s that came on it. Im also auto. I torched the t56 after a few months. Over around 600whp you really need an external pump to lube the “head set gears” the thin trans fluid runs to the back and overheats the gears in the front of the trans. Wish I would have known that before I messed my t56 up lol
