Default Truckdoug's turbo g-body malibu, world's slowest turbo LS!

whats up guys? I missed ya. I sold the blue truck and started in on another square (white '79) before I stumbled into this '79 malibu.

After some hassles getting the title, I finally paid the guy and drove it home.

look at those wheels! prowlers!

she's got some ridiculous huge cam in a "built" 355, stock stall converter, flowmaster 40 series muffs and 100% stock suspension. This was the coolest car in the HS parking lot in 1991.

I didn't even have it home yet and I was buying parts for it. I knew from past experience you can fit a massive intercooler in the space between the grille and the rad

viren was practically giving away the small turbine s475 clones

had to spend a little time pulling the funk stank carpet out

someone's clever way to solve the g-body rattle when you have subs in the trunk

the only rust on the car, caused by a double a battery in a puddle under the passenger seat

Kinda. SBE at least. RonSSNova gifted me some take-off heads from his work and I reassembled the little 4.8 I killed late 2017 with fresh consumables (cam, timing chain, lifters, rings and bearings)

gonna be pretty mild at first to get the suspension working right. comp cam 216/218 just under .600 lift on a 115+3

ls6 intake, stock p59 computer, 80lb dekas and 2 450's. we'll see how far those 80's will go

right now we are selling our house and buying a different one at the same time (never do this ) so I'm trying to get as much done as possible and still keep it running and driving

so I'm working up a fox mustang 8.8 swap axle for it. The last two 8.8 swaps I've done have gone incredibly well. It's crazy how much power the stock parts can handle.

fresh from an 86 GT

starting to zap on it a little

close to done. I think I'm gonna add a half loop over the pinion snout to stabilize the truss bars

Should run good, those 80s will take you fairly far if it's going to be on straight gas.

word I think they will be the limiting factor. I can grab some 210's or whatever the cool kids are using when they no longer cut the mustard.

we have e85 here. ethanol + high cylinder pressure = crazy power

Cool build man. I like your trucks too. I'm building my Papa's old 1962 C-10 w/ a 4.8, 4L80e, 9", and an VSR 75. Look forward to your progress.

Tell me about it. Mine is up for sale while they build mine.
If mine doesn't sell before its done, the company building my house will buy it from me at a major price cut,
and I will have to drain every dollar I have everywhere to cover the rest of the down payment and closing costs.
I sleep on pins and needles.

For the rear-end, you should look into a 94-98 mustang GT rear end.
The housing itself is 100% identical to the fox housing. The axles are .75" longer on each side, with 5 lugs and disk brakes.
They're also mostly 3.27 ratio, which goes well with a 26" tire and a 4L80e.

yeah sleep hasn't been so great but IF everything works out we'll be in a good spot.

I tried to find a 94-98 GT rear, in fact did find one, pulled it and realized it was bent a good 4" from the crash that sent it to the wrecking yard

Thanks Andrew! I think we watch the same stuff. Whenever I go on a Forgotten Weapons Youtube binge the algorithm always links your videos!

I have another 80e that I'm gonna document a full rebuild on and try the Clinebarger dual feed mods.
