Was your previous cam worn out? How many miles on the engine? You might . . . maybe . . . want to consider replacing the cam bearings.

You need to know the year of your engine ,there are 3 different iterations of the LS cam bearings CH-19, CH-23 and CH-25, Kinda confusing but your machine shop will (should) know..

I have the 288 cam with the 2.5 PRC heads. From the other posts on here, seems to be a common setup. As mentioned I would speak with TSP about your goals.. depending on your tranny will determine what other supporting mods you need (stall and cooler for auto).
