It really depends on your packaging situation. For me, i have a twin scroll housing and my hotside if completely divided. I decided to just run twin gates to package everything easier. Works fine. There is some redundancy built in, but it also complicates things.

ive got a t4 plate with a
two 2.5 in pipes for the merge . im thinking it will be easier to run two 38 mm wastegates then build my own merge .

I used a powerstroke merge with a t4 flange and 2" piping for my hotside. It just ended up working out with the angles.

I run the same merge. I ran for a while with 1 44mm on 1 bank, worked great, I could run 4 psi if I wanted. I recently built a merge for my wastegate to hook it to both banks, I can't tell a difference it seems the same. But I also have a tiny turbine atm, so a lot of back pressure.

you can also put 1 gate on the housing. A lot of guys do that

i wanted to run 1 waste gate just because its a single piece. but i always debate what would be cheaper and better.

im not at the point of fabbing yet ( waiting for my painter to paint the goddamn bay ) but when the times comes ill see where goes what!

i kinda wanted a 3 to 1 t4 flange but no one makes that lol

I ran a 60mm gate of a 3" pipe after the merge. This was all to do with packaging, weight, and not having it dump to atmosphere.
