Default 2002 W463 Mercedes G500 engine swap ? What engine would be the easiest ?

Im currently thinking of buying a 2002 g500 but the mpg is terrible 11 city/ 13 highway what engine would best fit in any 4.8 or 5.3 is wayy better than the g500 original engine so what engine is the cheapest and the best to fit in and what would i really need ??

The G wagon is a big, beavy beast - closer to miltary grade than SUV - with the aerodynamics of a cinder block. Mating the LS motors to the AWD drivetrain ( which has lots of parasitic HP loss) will be a challenge. Pulling out Mercedes’ 290ish HP 5.0L V8 and subtituting a 300-325HP LS V8 isn’t going to result in much better fuel mileage or performance.AND would be a major undertaking. I don’t understand your logic...

That's exactly 1mpg under what they were rated at from the factory. You probably should have done some homework before buying it. Just replacing it with another vehicle would be your best bet if fuel economy is your concern.....
