2019 Cruisin Ocean City
#3
Yeah I know the city has made it tough. Some of the things I've seen them do are justified, but by far most of it falls into the nit picky money grabbing category designed to drive us away. Unfortunately there isn't another option this big without driving really far. Next year we're doing Myrtle Beach, hope it's worth the 8 hour drive.

Its not like OC is nice, but geez AC is a dump! The vdub heads tried moving their show there, I think like 10% went to AC and the rest still showed up in OC.
Honestly I thought they were pretty chill last fall, we didn't have any police interactions and it wasn't for lack of trying.

not a whole lot of places in the northeast/mid-atlantic that has boardwalks and ocean scenery within driving distance for everyone. I mean could try Rehoboth beach, but they're a huge lgbtq community down there that may not like our presence and may be even more sensitive than OCMD.

i recall sloppy mechanics has their yearly dyno day and the place gets packed, but they also have a very small area for ppl to park and such. they're near the Allentown, pa area or CSP in chester county does their dyno days too. I suppose any type of shops (with dynos and reputable) that is willing and welcomes for car meets is an option.

Well there is the first annual hot rod week in OBX this weekend. Blown mafia came up to it. I believe years ago they used to come to spring cruisin in OC.
From what I heard, cops said they arent gonna be huge hard asses for just a lil tire spin.
OC cruisin had sucked for a good 6 year or now now. The wildest event to go to is H2o now. I have a ball watching the stupidity at that.

i know ac is a dump, but as noticed, places with some class dont take kindly to our type.......so we may have to lower our expectations if we wanna be rambunctious, or just deal with the OCMD pedal patrol. no red light racing in ac tho unless you trying to wheel hop off the line and bend a few rims.

Shitty laws and Cops ruined it. I got followed by an undercover for like 80 blocks last year. There were people getting pulled over like I've never seen before in OCMD. The LS1TECH meet is always a good time. However for me I'm gonna pass this year. Hopefully it gets better.

My biggest thing is from what I gather they are butthurt about that guy getting killed in front of seacrets a few years back. I believe he wasn't sober and j walked at night time. Sorry but 30 mph will still kill someone. Without me sounding like an *******, but if i had to guess, there would be an attendance above 100,000 here on Saturday night, it's goon a be near impossible for there not to be bad situations involving EMTs. When u put that much ppl and booze in one place it just happens.
I mean the one year a cop hit someone I believe, wonder how fast he was going and if he got a ticket.
I'm not a hater, and yes havingv a burn out contest in the middle of the street with crowds around certainly needs to be shut down, and I agree with rolling burnouts half a block long are unsafe and deserve a ticket, but the small pops and quick acceleration stuff should be look passed. Just like the cop clocking speeders, on a highway they don't ticket the guy doing 75 in a 65, why waste the time when u can wait a few more minutes and get an 80 or 85......same should apply here, but when u have the police force to ticket everyone, I guess ur goona ticket everyone
