4L85e Torque Converter info
2005 Suburban with 8.1L 496 bigblock with 4l85e, not an Allison. All stock, vehicle has never been touched.
Having a hard time finding information dealing with the stock converter, have looked at all sticky threads and other sites/databases and nothing is seeming to match.
The converter appears to be stock, having the factory GM hex style bolts holding it to the flex plate.
Converter has one sticker on it, has green and white "paint dots" with the numbers 2422-7939 on the sticker. (THIS HAS BEEN CHECKED TIME AND TIME AGAIN, it IS NOT 2242-7936, as that is the closest number that matches but is still incorrect)
Converter also has "K1-K628" stamped between blades on the outer casing.
Looks to be 13 1/2 inches in size and has a 18xsx-22xx stall (considerably higher than usual in HD applications).
Vehicle has never had the engine or transmission serviced (?).
Printed on the outer blades in ink is "THREAD" in all caps, followed by some numbers that are not legible.
Cannot find any part numbers, or application codes to match any of what is written. The closes thing to matching was a converter that ended in 7936, but did not match the description of this converter.
Any information would be appreciated as it seems that this thing doesn't exist.

here's the replacement. Here's the info on it. That number 24227939 is correct
http://converter-search.dynamicpower...00&InHTML=True
what color is the converter.
bare metal, painted blue, green, silver, red, etc etc
That will help tell if it is a reman or a factory original.
P.S. aftermarket converters use factory cores all the time so those markings could be accurate and still be an aftermarket/higher stall converter.
But the way you describe the markings leads me to believe it is a stock converter and the attached link will show you what you need to know

The finish is bare metal.
Thank you for the information, however this was info i had dug up earlier and the application year models do not match and the part numbers are so broad that it leads me to believe its a re-manufactured one.
Still really have no exact information such as load capacity and stall speed.

I know that says late 90's to 2001
The engine matches (8.1L)
and the reman number is dgm101...which if you look harder will match multiple years up to and including your 05
It's a factory converter

It was used on light duty (3500 series and down) GM vehicles with the 8.1L engine from 2001 to 2006. Also used in medium duty (4500 series and up) and larger platforms with the 8.1L engine up through 2009.
