Cam Motion Custom Grind Opinions 327ci
I recently talked to Bobby at Cam Motion and I filled out a recommendation form for My 2001 C5 Corvette 6 speed. Engine the cam is going in will be a L33 bored to 3.785 - 3.790 basically a true 327ci.
Pistons Will be the Summit Racing dome forged set.
Heads are Cnc Ported Katech 799s 215/82cc
Compression will be around 11.1
So based on my weight, rear gear which is 3.42
And all my headflow data Bobby Specd me a:
230/236 duration
.629/.612 Lift
113+4 LSA
7 degrees of Overlap
He said it may buc a hair under 3000 rpm
and it should have a pretty nasty idle for the 5.3L
which is something I requested.
He did say it would have lots of torque and should drive pretty good.
So what are y'alls thoughts on this cam for my setup?

The guys at Cam Motion know their stuff. If you were honest in what you are after and were accurate with the engine spec, you will have what you are after. Have fun!

Agree with G. You simply can’t go wrong with CamMotion. I honestly don’t see it bucking any with 7 degrees of overlap, with the right tune. Maybe the lightweight car and manual tranny would exaggerate any bucking. I think you’ll like this camshaft in that engine. Don’t be bashful when it comes time to get this tuned. Spend the money on a good tuner, who will work for you and get you the most power and the best drivability in one package.

I am going to have it dyno tuned, by who is the question though. I Live in East Texas so I will have to hunt down a good tuner. Like hunting a needle in a haystack. Anyone have a idle clip I can hear of a cam close to this one? I searched all of YouTube with no luck. Lol

Yeah I'm pretty excited about it. Only Parts holding it back will be the Intake Manifold and TB I'm running for now.
John Lingenfelter Polished Aluminum LS6 STYLE Intake "old skool"
And a BBK 80mm Throttle Body
If I can afford to do it after I buy everything to get the car back running I will most likely end up with a FAST 92 on it with 36lb injectors. The Lingenfelter Sure does have a Show factor to it though. I may just run it for awhile. Well see.
