Default 5.3L Info Needed.

Hey guys I am new to the LS scene and turbo compatibility. I have an 85 IROC-Z that previously had a 377ci in there with a T5 World class behind it. Recently I've been on a kick to drop an LS in there. My father has a spare LS1 laying around but recently I've been tossing around the 5.3L instead, looking towards the L33 but my sisters ex just offered me a 5.3 iron that he will give me. With that being said my end goal for the car will be targeting 750WHP, T56, full suspension, and probably a ford 9. I'd like to know what is your opinions on LS1 VS 5.3 L33 VS 5.3 Cast iron. With that in mind remember that the 5.3 Cast Iron is free! Also ive heard that the 4.8 is good for boost as well.

If the cast 5.3 that is free is good (good bearings, good rings), then yep, thats the ticket. Otherwise, I would look for a good L33 IMO. I personally don't think dumping real cash into a iron 5.3 is worth it. Now if your rolling in replacement bearings, and can do it with good faith it will stay together thats one thing, but taking it to a machine shop and having it all done just isn't worth the $ for the outcome.
