Advice or Suggestions On Installing TransGo HD2 4L80e
Hey guys,
I'm getting ready to pull my transmission this weekend and wanted to get some advice from those who have done this "Shift Reprogramming" kit before. My setup now is a mostly stock LC9 5.3, with 220/222 Cam from SDPC and gapped rings, stock rebuilt 4L80e from Jasper. My plan since the beginning has been to add a turbo and run some medium boost. My plan for the weekend is to install a new FTI 3200 Stall converter, new filter, install the HD2 and some fresh fluids. My question though is for those that have installed the HD2 with an upgraded converter and what settings you went with for the shift firmness on step 6? The car is primarily going to be a cruiser, so I want to keep the shifts smooth out of boost. I can control a lot of that with the Terminator X Max software and am pleased now with the shifts, but like all of the benefits I'm reading about with the HD2 kit. I also read on some of the Sloppy Wiki's that there were some steps that guys left out. Curious what y'alls thoughts are.

When I had my 4L80e rebuilt, I asked them to put a shift kit in it. I left it up to them on how hard to set it up. Never drove it yet 🤣
