I am OtakuFather - I am nearly done rebuilding a Gen III LS1 that was pulled from an 2001 Corvette (base) that will be going into the 1999 Nissan Skyline sedan that I purchased late last year. I have been prowling old posts on the forum and using the Haynes LS rebuild manual for reference, but definitely have 1 or 2 Qs in the pipeline I plan to ask after I do a tad more research.
Anyway, I had the motor ran through by a great local machine shop as it was a market place purchase - the motor has a mild Cam Motion cam, I used their pushrods as well, Cometic gasket, upgraded trunions/rockers, new springs, LS6 TC dampener, LS6 timing chain (went with the GM chain over the one that came with Cloyes after I side by sided and Cloyes seemed less beefy) etc. basically a total refresh of the bottom and top end. I will be pairing it with a Nissan/Infinity CD009 trans, and am using Sikky mfg swap kit to get this thing up and running, which is where I am at now, waiting on parts haha. Anyway, nice to meet y'all - here is a pic of the setup so far.
