Looking for an affordable replacement for my first car - a Firebird that my friends and I LS1 swapped back in 2009. I wrote a popular V6->LS1 swap guide here on LS1tech that some of you may remember. The car was parked in a garage on my dad's property with a built LQ4/T56 sitting under it when a nearby structure unexpectedly caught fire which spread to the garage and cooked the car in early 2025. He didn't start the fire and he didn't complain at all about my car being there. It wasn't insured as it was on jack stands with a pile of parts underneath it & my dad convinced me years before that I should take it off my own insurance as his property insurance would cover it as it was still in his name (he bought it when I was a kid). Insurance did not cover it (or a lot of other expenses) and it's a complete out of pocket loss for me and family finances are even tighter now. After being melted and having the windows broken by light fixtures falling on it, the interior was flooded inside from the firefighting efforts, and then a litter of stray kittens and their mom decided to live in the passenger footwell for months. Looking for clean 01-02 shells, running and driving preferred but not required. Bonus points if it was a factory V8 manual car and more points if it already has an 8.8 swap.
