Does Motor oil "Go Bad" ?
Back when I was poverty stricken teenager, used to buy 99 cent quarts on sale at PaY N Save, occasionally scored ancient loose cans of oil for 25 cents at garage sales, etc
Around 1983 I found a CACHE of really old leaky carboard cans: 65W AeroShell, bunch of straight SAE30, and some Chevron SAE40 about 30 oilly, seeping cans upstairs storage in a going out of business gas station- trade the lot for a 12 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Burned all that 25 year old oil in a very thirsty Plymouth Satelite.
.
. I'm working on a pail of DELO 75W-90 synthetic gear lube from 2008- Have filled 3 differentials- each one has a new install of Yukon Duragrip positractions.
No trouble with18 year old gear lube.
.
. Here's a relic from my collection- VietNam era:
.SIXTY YEAR-OLD OIL- Would you run it ?
