The LED is controlled by the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) which provides ground to the circuit. You can check that there is ground available on the purple/white wire at the switch when ASR is on and no ground when turned off. If not, then you have either a break in the purple/white wire between the switch and the EBCM or the EBCM is faulty.
The other possibility is that the LED in the switch is dead. It is not considered a serviceable part (although you might be able to replace it if you're good with soldering), so you would have to replace the switch.
