Tire Choice What is a good overall tire in a 275/40/17 size. I have a set of track tires, looking for a sticky road corse type tire that isn't too soft that can take some street use.
Choices are becoming limited but there are still some good options. I ran NT05s for a little while and they were great for about a year until grip started falling off. Currently running R888Rs with good luck so far although I haven’t pushed them yet. They are a bit noisy and from what I understand wet conditions can be tricky (time will tell).
RT 660 is now RT 660+ and I’ve heard great things about them but decided on the R888R in hopes of having better traction with my new combo and 100 treadwear. The 888 is no longer made and the RA1 is a bit dated in technology. Really just depends on what you are trying to do and if there are treadwear restrictions.
