Default Monster S Twin - Pilot Bearing or an Orlite Pilot Bushing

I need to replace my burt up 6 puck. I'm going with a Monster S Twin.

Should I run the Pilot Bearing (supplied by Monster) or i go with a Orlite Pilot Bushing?

I'm sure someone on here will advocate for the bronze bushing but I would run the GM pilot bearing supplied by Monster Cutches.

Give them a call and see what they say!

I like bushings because they are more forgiving of bellhousing misalignment than a bearing. Those bearings don't stay greased forever, and when they dry out, the rollers can damage the pilot on your input shaft.

Yeah this is what I recently read, that a bearing can mess up your op shaft if they take a ****, where a self lubricating bushing is less likely to do damage. Apparently the bushings are noisy, but I'll never hear it over my exhaust.

Monster likes the bearing, but seems like too much can go wrong with the bearing.

I've never heard of misalignment of a bell housing when there's dowel pins to keep that from happening. The softer metal of bronze does sound appealing though and I've considered switching over to a bushing when it comes time to change out my clutch. Pilot should be replaced after every clutch anyway.

You will NEVER hear a bronze bushing. You will, however, hear a bearing with smoked rollers; it sounds like pouring water when you push in the clutch.
