Default 418 Stroker Build

Gents I sent number 1 rod through my 6.0 with ls3 heads and happened to come across a 6.2. cylinder walls had some rust so I decided to go ahead and order a stroker kit and have it bored out to clean them up. Ended up with an Eagle 418 kit. Main question is I was planning on using my F-35 cam I had as long as it comes out unscathed and was going to end up with a set of trick flow 255s and a fast 102. I however was quite sure if stock rockers would cut it or if there is more to be had with some YTs. Not a super knowledgeable engine builder so I'm trying to expand my knowledge. Car has an 80e and a 4k circle d stall and a Moser 12 bolt with 4.56 gears. It ran ok last time and 11.65 at 117 was the fastest but I felt it lacked. Id like to see a low 11 high 10 this time around. Any suggestions or information, what to look out for and what to stay away from will be greatly appreciated.

A 418 will want/tolerate a lot more cam than your 6.0 did.

I think stock or stock style upgraded rockers are fine if youre not running a lot of lift. I just put these Summit 141554 rockers in my LS3 build. It makes 540whp and spins to 7700rpm. Roller rockers can accommodate more lift without the side loading.

I had been wondering that as big as that F-35 was in my 6.0 if it would be a little more on the mild side in a 418. I just wanted to get the most I can out of this since I'm not on a time frame and am just doing it as I go.

I personally would be looking at stroker cams from Cam Motion or BTR and probably using stock rockers. F35 is on the small side for a 418.

Do those heads have bronze guides? If so it would be a good idea to monitor them for wear, check them about every 10,000 miles.
