Default metric A/C expansion valve fittings

My 1994 camaro is going to get A/C again. what I was surprised by is the fittings on the evaporator fan (TXV) on the firewall are metric Oring fittings. Not metric insert fittings. seems impossible to find a fitting that will fit the evaporator fan to make custom hoses. the fittings are 22x1.5 for the top port and 20x1.5 for the bottom port. All A/C systems are apparently SAE and the dash -8 and -10 are not AN fittings. I don't know if GM used the metric TXV valve only in the fbody. Has anyone dealt with this on either a camaro or other GM chassis.

The good news is I can replace the evaporator to match a later fbody, but that is spending 6 hours taking apart the dash and having done that a few times, it's a lot of work. Ideally I can buy the adapters somewhere. My goal is to run all LS components with the custom hose fittings tot he evaporator I have stock. any suggestions on fittings? Cold hose told me they don't have the Metric Oring fittings.

Coldhose has them. Recently ran into the same issue on a 95 OBS truck

I used these fittings for the OBS in addition to standard ones
M27 to #10 hose

The search feature is excellent on their site. Simply searching "M22" found a multiple fittings

If those don't work, you may be forced to cut/weld. Typically, male fittings are limited to the end device, so are rare to get as loose fittings

I thumbed through rock auto and see your problem
93-95 3.4L V6 Fbodys used this style hose and had a unique evaporator core to match. Everything else is a standard metric fitting or GM bolt on block

For this, you're going to be forced to cut/weld or change the evap core

right, those are the fittings, my car was a lt1, but the threads are the same i believe. my only other thought is if there is another evaporator that has SAE threads that I can put in. I know this one is 1.5ton with 7 degrees super heat so if I can find one of these from another car that has SAE feeting, maybe I get lucky. Just don't feel like ripping out the dash again to change this evap.
