i built a 408,brand new cast iron 04 6.0 gm block & lunati engine kit!
what should the bearing clearance be & how to prime the motor! thanks in advance!

 

I primed my 383 by disconnecting all the fuel injector plugs, and disconnecting the coil pack plugs. then I used the starter to turn the motor about 10-15 times. Checked/topped off my fluids, turned the motor about 10-15 times. Checked/topped off the fluids, hooked the injectors and coil pack back up, and fired her up. Keep a close eye on your oil pressure. Mine was 70psi right away, then I shut her down, and checked the fluids again.

I sugest running open headers for the first start. Makes it all more worth it as well as waking your neighbors up!

But if you realy want to know your motor is primed fill the motor with oil untel it comes out of the fill cap. Then you know it is primed,
