Default '99 Z X-pipe

Does anyone know if an X-pipe fitted for a '99 Z-28 fits on a '02 SS? If he is running hooker headers would I have to run the same type of header? I am thinking about buying it off a friend

It should fit, having Hooker headers will make it incredibly easy, but most of these headers come out in about the same spot. May want to have some cutting/welding tools handy or hav a shop install it on your car.

What headers are you running (on the 99)? What xpipe is your friend running? Is it a system or custom?

There's really no difference between a 99 and 02 as far as you're concerned it's all about what header you are running, and they're all pretty close. A muffler shop should be able to make it fit no problem like mentioned above so you should be good to go.

thanks for the feed back. . . .the '99 is running hooker headers and an x-pipe with twista mufflers. As far as the '02 is concerned its stilll bone stock and I am just now starting to do mods on it. I was wanting to go with a good set of pacesetter headers.

In that case if it's stock you would need to extend the end part of the X pipe to fit stock manifolds, but if you are going to be running Pacesetters they will most likely just line up fairly close.
