im still making changes so no track times yet, I removed quit a bit of weight
MWC front and rear bumper support
MWC k member and A arms
Removed all Parking brake hardware
Strange rear Drag Brakes
AC Delete Plate to remove rest of AC stuff
Also added weight back in with MWC roll cage
but switching to viking coilovers from the Koni, Strano Setup and added a Drag bar so should see some improvment on my 60ft. I will keep you guys updaded

oh I know smaller cubes have gone alot faster than me, my car has just never been setup specificly for drag, im leaning towards that route now, the motor makes good horsepower but tops out at 6300. plus its a 6 spd. i know a good stalled auto would probably already get me close to the 9s. car has ran a mid 10s as it sits, but i had to run rear tire pressure really low to get it to hook, hopefully all the changes and being able to run higher psi in the rear will take off a few more tenths.

You want my honest opinion, to run good #'s naturally aspirated, ditch the LS3 heads and go to a good Cathedral head, like trickflow or mamo AFR, or use LS7 heads..

if I spend more money on Heads I will spend it on heads I can switch over for boost. maybe some afr 245s or 255s something for a future 427lsx setup. right now im not willing to invest 4k into a good set of heads when I can get a built stalled auto and gain more than the heads would give me

My car went 10 flat @136mph with a 6 speed and not too much weight reduction. I'm sure with some practice or better air it would have gotten in the 9's. That was with the previous owner, also on a 150 shot and using stock (BTR ported) 317's, Vic Jr. and that horrible elbow.
I have changed a ton and hope to get into the high 9's on motor alone. I added a TH400 with a brake, 4150 FAST throttle body and bumped the compression up to 13:1. I have also done some things to lighten it and added Viking da coil overs. Previously it ran on stock stuff with comp rear shocks.
After I get about as much as I can out of it on motor I'll start adding the juice. Looking for a total of about 400-500 hp of spray.

OP The weight reduction is gonna help you out a lot. I'm in the 10's and dropped over 2 tenths and 2.5 mph over my previous best with very similar weight reduction this past winter. If you don't want to tear into your nice engine I'd cut down or buy the shorter fast runners. If your in mid 10's now and could get a few tenths out of weight reduction, a tenth or 2 outta intake and get some good air you would be real close

Jmo.. There is something wrong with your valve train. There are plenty of ls3 headed stroked ls2's shifting at least 7000 rpm.
Over spring it a bit, 105 wall pr's , short travel, low lash or solid lifters. I shift at 7000 with ls3 gmpp's out of the box, moral short travel lifters w .750 roller, stock rockers, 235/250 115+5. very street able.

mainly I had to repair it, i live in louisiana where we flooded out in october, car was under water for 2 days. but i saved it and got it running after a week, took alot of time replacing all the eletronics on it. have been able to make 2 passes on the new suspension setup and weight reduction but never had a good run. still need to make a few small repairs. I am now switching to a 4l80e also and probably a 150 shot of nitrouse. idk if I mentioned it before but before flood I did full viking coilover, full tube k memeber up front, and some weight reduction.

Did you ever decide on heads for your build?

ive decided to not really mess with the engine. i want to go procharger down the line now that the car is capable of handing over 1000hp. but i dont trust the 418 block for that. i will end up doing a lsx block at some point. im hoping the 4l80e with transbrake will get me a few tenths and once its dialed in that way I will throw a 150 shot on it for now. losing everything in the flood halted alot of the big plans for it for now. im only doing the 4l80e cause its only a couple thousand after selling off my t56 and building the 4l80e myself

Curious of any updates on this... I'm in the process of building a 4l80 tranny for for 2001 WS6 and looking for a 6.2 to build with a procharger, trying to get to 800 hp for the street car I hope.
