Does anybody have direct info too the fastest street legal 4th gen ? Very interested as I'm in the process of building a strip monster unlike no other fbody anyone has seen on ls1tech, or possibly ever . Most will hate this car on here , and if it does what it's being built too do , the hate will be so much worse ! I'm only interested in 4th gen cars that are streetable , no tube chassis cars /lexan cars , pro mod cars etc ! Any drivetrain is acceptable . I imagine it'll be a 7 second or possibly high 6 second car . Anyways thanks in advance fellas , can't wait to see what some of ya'll have accomplished!

Street legal doesn't mean ****. The second you modify an exhaust part, the car is technically not street legal. That is a silly designation.

Pretty well accepted that street legal is taken to mean registered and insured.

True - until the stipulations come in. OP said no tube chassis. By the time you get a cage certified for 6 second runs isn't pretty much already a tube chassis car anyway?

I know of a couple 7 second 4th gens right off hand. How much actual street time they see I don't know.

Steve Smith's 4th gen T/A from south Florida is a twin turbo setup and runs well into the 7s consistently.

Then there is Jeff Zerkle's 4thy Gen T/A that runs mid 7s at nearly 190 MPH with a 4L80 trans with a Extreme Automatics billet manual valve body. The only reason to run and OD trans is for streetability, so I would say that car sees a decent amount of street time.
