Vengeance Racing Twin Turbo C6Z lays down 8.41@166mph
 

On 10/2/18 we after a long and amazing Street Car Takeover weekend we decided to head over to Carolina Dragway for a test and tune with several of our customers. One of the customers we brought was none other than Speed Addicts’ owner Drue Macready in his Vengeance Racing built C6 Z06. This car has undergone several stages of modifications. This C6Z starting out as a simple supercharged LS7 and has transformed into the animal it is today. Drue recently piloted this car to a 205mph pass down the ½ mile on his first time out with the current drivetrain setup, and plans to go even faster next year. However, his new goal was to swap in a more ¼ mile oriented gear and take the car to the drag strip to really prove what the combination is capable of. With this being his first real test session with the car, Drue took a few passes to get comfortable in the driver’s seat on low boost with a few mid-high 9-second passes before we started throwing the power at it and really dialed in the setup. In the end, Drue actually made several 8-second passes and ended up with a best time of 8.41 @ 167mph backing it up with another 8.41@166mph !!! This was still leaving with a ½ mile focused torque converter limiting him to a 1.39 60’, and weighing in at 3,720 lbs with driver!

Drue’s more than happy with the results as are we, and again could not have done this without the manufacturers in play that helped provide us with the highest quality products to get this car down the track. Drue’s C6 Z06 is equipped with a 427ci solid roller engine combination , a custom in house fabricated twin-turbo system featuring Precision 68/70 ball bearing turbochargers, a 100% in-house fabricated air to water intercooler system, RPM TH400 (non-lockup) and 9” IRS rear, and tuned on ProEFI with Q16 fuel. This vehicle is also 100% piloted by the owner on each and every pass.
