Congratulations, 9's is a great feeling... the launch is the best part.
I had a low 9sec car back in '96; 352ci old school sbc, 14.5 to 1, 350 shot of NOS off the transbrake, ran consistant 9.1 & 1.26 60ft over the 1/4. I just ran Felpro o ring head gaskets & never popped one so you should be safe for a while yet.
I ran Venolia pistons & only had 2 mishaps with lifting top ring lands but I did split an 010 block on both sides of the valley at the base of the head studs & destroyed 4 cranks in 1 season.
