Default Finally in the 9s

I got my license two weeks ago but I had to give them my only two 9second time slips. So I decided to wait to post here until I got another slip.

MPH 110.90
1000 8.058

MPH 138.14

If anyone wants to see the time slip I can scan it.

Supporting mods: 408, MS3 cam, PRC 5.3 heads, Nitro dave 90mm plate kit (175 shot), 12 bolt 3.73s, A1 transmissions TH-400, Tuned by F-body central.

Jesus I need to get my car to 60 foot better, I've got you by 4 mph at the 1/8th and at the top end and I'm only going a tenth and a half faster.

What gear do you have in the car, I swear the 3.73 is hurting me, I think I should have either left the 4.10's in it, or just went to a 3.90 when I had the rear opened up.

He is running a 3.73 also... the M/T drag radials work better than those wimpy slicks you have.

Shawn went from slicks to DR's and broke all his **** (bumper dragger)

We told him to go down to a 3.73 to help keep the front end down he has the car working good.

I'm taking a break next year, but when the car comes back out I'm probably gonna try a 315/60 et radial, and put a set of 4.10's back in it to make up for the tire height.

Looks like it from the sig pic. I have a bunch of changes I want to do to the car so I'm taking next year off, and I have some other things I need to put sime $ into as well... so unfortunately the car has to wait

But, when I get it back out it will be about 250 to 300 lbs lighter (should be down under 3000) and the DP will be on it by then, so it should run pretty good

Definitely ditch the slicks, Ive never come close to the 60's I have now w/325/50s when I was on slicks. The best I ever did was a 1.40. Also I would not change from 3.73s becasue as soon as you decide to go real fast your gonna end up changing them again.

Yeah I still wasn't used to the pro tree yet. My second time ever using one. I was also afraid to leave off the brake on yellow becasue when ever I leave on the third amber on the other tree I always redlight. I figured it was better to leave late then lose on the tree.

when I do try the radials again I'm gonna start with the 315/60, that's a 30 inch tall tire. At this point I think I would have been better off with 3.90's probably even with another 100 hp of nitrous it would have been better, so add another 2 inches of tire height, and that 4.10 will be about the same as a 3.73 with a 28 inch tire anyway.

I'm gonna try them again, but not until I can fit the big ones, likly hood of them working is better that way.

Also probably gonna go to a 12 inch wide rim at the same time.

I have gone 1.35 with the old converter, and now 1.37 with the new one, and I think that with another shock adjustment it may be able to get back to the 1.35's, I jsut don't want the car standing up again, and it may want to if I loosen the fronts up another click.

Sig pic was a 1.40, with the rear tires

Been there done that lol, I went 1.46 on my back tires too lol. The 4.10s and 30s might be fine on another 100hp shot but what about if you spray the 300hp shot.

@142 with a 28 and 3.73's I'm well under 7 grand, I've got enough room not to go probably 165, which is more then this motor is good for by a mile.

a 30 inch tire and 4.10's works out to be almost the exact same, but Ii was thinking about it, and the 3.73 actually hurt the car I think, so with a 30 inch tire, I may go to a 4.20 to 4.30 gear, depends what I can get for a 9 inch.

Two things to remember....on a sportsman tree, you can anticipate the last amber so you naturally react faster to it

On a pro tree, there is only 0.400 sec between amber and green instead of .500 between last amber and green on sportsman (unless you are using .500 pro then its the same as sportsman).

with practice, the lights will come

Great run BTW

Ordered a Portatree last night with a foot pedal for bracket racing. I red lighted Saturday in the first round . I swear I didn't move until I saw the third amber.

remember, you are still anticipating that third amber...some cars react pretty quick...its a game of consistancy...do the exact same thing every time...
