Default 1st gen small block and t56?

I have a 283 and a t56 out of a lt1 camaro and was wondering if they will bolt up and work together? Thanks

With the correct flywheel, yes.

yea, i think centerforce makes the correct flywheel and clutch kit for
sbc to lt1 t56 now

so can i use a flywheel for a 283 or lt1? and clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing for the lt1 im assuming?

Well, you can buy the flywheel for a 283 designed fro a LT1 clutch setup, ot you can use a T5 bellhousing, sock flywheel setup with whatever 26 spline clutch that will make you happy with a adapter plate for a LS1 T56(the input shaft is longer to make it work.)

So do they make flywheels for 1st gen small blocks designed for LT1 clutches? If so, who? Thanks a lot for the help

With my old 88 Camaro, I had a T56 in it bolted up to the generation 1 small block 305 TPI that I rebuilt. She's got a really nice Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and if I remember, a Centerforce flywheel as well. In conclusion, contact Centerforce and they can probably hook you up with your situation
