Default Another Turbo 400 Transmission Question

i have a turbo 400 the plate behind the converter that has like 6 bolt on it? i was driving yesterday and then the trans wouldnt shift i noticed smoke and shut off the car and pulled off to the side i jacked up the car figured out that the plate behind the converter had 5 bolts missing and the trans fluid was leaking from there so i went to the store and got new bolts with lock washers thinking that wouldnt keep it from backing out again but from what i can tell it looks like its leaking from the bolts ... so does it use crush washers or why is it leaking ?

Wrong section, but that would be the pump. Most TH400 had 7 bolts and a few later models had 5. They use a flat gasket type washer. If you use a split ring washer (lock washer), I will leak. One of them (maybe two) go thru the case and into the sump section of the tranny. The rest are blind holes, so don't get to long of a bolt.
