COMP CAM Question?? (on 91 camaro L98 350)
i'm am doing a cam change. im am going to take the stock cam out of my 91 camaro Vortec Headed L98 350. i am puting a 270HR Magnum cam from comp cam's here are the spec's for it lift:500/500 - duration:270 - rpm range 1800 to 5000. will i need guide plates or after market push rods or rocker arms?? an am i going to have brake problems with out a vac can??

Another thing you need to check into is that 96-98 vortec heads can only handle ~.450 lift. Since the cam you spec'd is .500 lift you might have to do the valve guide griding mod to those heads.
If I was going to step up the cam I would go a little bigger than what you are going with. Step up to the 280HR, I think you will like it better.

Still wrong cams.
If the Vortec heads are not ported, then the exhaust port NEEDS extra duration. And the intake ports stall above 0.475" lift.
The ZZ4 cam will out perform the Magnum 270. In every way.
Lunati makes a nice 218/226-112 HR cam, with 0.471" intake lift.
Add a set of Comp 26981-16 springs, you won't need to do any machining. You can even try 1.6:1 rockers on the exhaust side.
If you want even more performance, go HF, and use Comp's NX268H13.

Just go a head and throw a xr282hr in there. It made 440 hp in a 350. Go big or go home. It is a roller version of the cam they put in this article.

Could somebody anybody plz help me im bout done with my 94Lt1 to carbd 350 swap and im wanting to find a set of headers that will bolt up to the factory exhaust until i can save up an buy some long tubes and a new exhast system thanks i would deeply apreciate it.
