Default max rpm for hypereutectic pistons?

Im sure this has been asked before but I want to get my build out there. We got a one piece rear main seal block with the stock crank and rods with arp bolts. 062 heads with stock valves and screw in studs. Hastings rings with plasma moly top rings. The only thing I am not sure on is the cam. Is it safe to rev to 6600-7000? Once the rods are done getting new bolts it will all be sent out to be balanced and thats where I figured it would make all the difference. This won't be a daily driver so we're not really worried about stall speed or idle quality.

It is piston speed itself that is the limitation. 6000 rpm on a 383 is harder on pistons and rods than a 350, the shorter stroke has a lower piston speed at the same rpm.

As for how much will they handle? Ask the guys balancing your engine, they should have an idea of how much abuse the parts your using will take.

I talked to a guy who said he could balance a rotating assembly and he told me 7500+ was fine. (I'm not doing it) but he also tried telling me that the rings and rod bearings didn't need to be included for him to balance it. (Witch I know is wrong) so I guess I'll hit up the other guys next month and have them take care of it.

I took my old hyper motors to 7200-7400. 355 CI with long rods to decrease the piston speed and CD. look into the Comp Cams XS290S-10 part num 12-679-5. that is a bad *** cam and I have had awesome luck with it.

You don't need cam bearings or rings to balance a engine. They will be the same or close. So it doesn't matter, since you cannot balance them any way anyhow.

I think the xs284s would be more like what im looking for. Dennis Mitchell racing told me to bring the whole rotating assembly including rod bearings and rings. Does $250 sound about right for a balance job?
