Default what engine should i swap into my car,

I have so much questions running through my head and i need help cause its driving me crazy.. I want to make 700rwhp all day long on my DD reliably.. The plan was some sort of ls swap but now im thinking of some sort of big block, iv been seeing bbc 454s that i could get with forged internals for about 9k shipped.. I was thinking with the right cam and exhaust work i could make it happen with no probs. im such a big block noob, went to the drag strip the other day and saw all the dragsters running big blocks.. Now it has me thinking.. What should i do the engine would be

A 700 hp bbc is going to be a nasty *** engine that will be annoying in traffic and a bitchy, temperamental daily driver. Now a efi Ls engine with a turbo can idle smoothly in traffic and chug along all day but when you want it the 700 hp it is there once the boost comes on.

If a BBC will fit, you should go for more cubes to make a milder engine. A BBC 565/582 is the same externally as a 454. A larger motor will be milder as a daily driver. I think you may want to relook an FI lsx as an option. Few of the strip cars are daily drivers, lol.

Im sure a bbc will fit, but i wouldnt go any bigger then a 454 though. I have always wanted an ls7 but the price of those things are just, not reasonable. 454 sounds like a great choice but like i said have no knowledge in the bbc world i have no idea what a 2 or 4 bolt main are, can someone educate me? My friend has a 300 srt8 and he daily drives it with a huge cam... And another with a ls2 swapped mustang that is also daily driven. What makes a big cam bbc not dd friendly? Im looking to make it an auto..

An 800hp 565/582 is reasonably mild. An 800hp 454 will have to be a compression build running E85. Go to ultrastreet.net to get an overview of bbc crate motors.

If your on a budget, go to vortecpro performance. Mark Jones builds nice engines for reasonable prices.

You can build a 600ish hp 454 for reasonably cheap-ish, using stock casting (i could be wrong) 921 casting heads magnum 280H cam, performer rpm intake and about 10:1 CR

Having driven a big block everyday, I hope you like gas-yardage cause thats about what you will get

700 rwhp 454 BBC Chevy thats daily driver reliable is not really realistic. I agree the FI LS route is a better choice.

HP isn't everthing. some big blocks struggle to ET what many LSX's do. front end weight, traction, all comes into play. these days lsx's can easy embarrass many built big blocks. $ for $ also. what you will definitely notice in an old school bb is the fuel gauge go down. whereas an lsx can be 600+fwhp, and on lean cruise mode will still do 30mpg
