Don't necessarily want to drop my gas tank, can I boost the octane of stale gas so the car will half *** run, I have a spare motor, I want to flush the lines by driving the car or at least idling it and putting premium in to replace what was in there

No need to drop your tank to empty the gas. A small hand pump and some hose and you can siphon it out using the filler neck. Don't try to make bad gas good! LOL
