350 vortec into 63 Bel Air
Hey my dad has a 98 K1500 sitting around in his yard and has told me I'm welcome to the 350 and 4L60e in it . I've heard that the vortec using a Gen 1 block so fitment isn't a issue and I've already been recommended at cam and spring set , but does anyone know what is needed for the wiring ? I know I will have to have the pcm flashed . I'm not looking for pretty I'm just looking to get it running .
Thanks in advance Josh .

check this site out http://lt1swap.com/1999_vortec_5.7/index.htm
Unless there is vats on the 98 you don't really need a reflash of the pcm. I would also look into the 0411 swap if you're looking at future performance on the 350.

TECH Fanatic
Why not buy a carb intake for the Vortec heads and get one of those self-tuning throttle body EFI units that bolts on in place of the carb? FiTech makes a really nice unit that I'm looking at putting on top of a Vortec 355 I am putting together.
I would not be looking at carrying over the Vortec spider injection system. Blech.

2006 5.3 vortec from tahoe
hey all I'm building a 1964 belair and have this 5.3 vortec lying around from a 2006 tahoe and wanting to use it with a 700r4 trans. Car is original straight six and 3 on the column. Will the fbody pan work and as far as mount going from straight six to the 5.3 what is best recommendation for it and trans crewmember. I am also doing disc brake conversion on the front from summit with power master cylinder and proportioning valve for the back to stay drum with 2" lowering spindles front. As far as motor goes in looking at the thumpr cam and a low profile intake with some headers. But I need the wiring harness still for motor and computer and such but I was wandering what I should get so I can keep dash completely working. And as far as shifter for the 700r4 what would you recommend. A ratchet set up on floor or will a column from something else work but at same time I'd like to keepthe interior looking fairly stock original ish. But dont mind the look of a ratchet shifter lol.
All help is greatly appreciated. First build I'm doing and looking forward to it. Normally only do diesel but really love these cars
