Default 93 Sbc 350 5.7 V8 Oil Pump Replacement

Hello all i have a 1993 k1500 with a sbc350 5.7 v8 and i have low oil pressure on manual gauge im replacing the trans as it went out and also doing the rear main seal (with microsleeve) and freeze plugs. However I have a few questions is if i replace the oil pump will my pressure go up with an oem replacement or do i need a hv pump? Second is what size do i need for the inlet 5/8 or 3/4? And lastly once i install the new pump to prime it can i disenable fuel and spark and turn the motor over to prime it or do i need to do the special tool any advice for this replacement would also be greatly appreciated thanks.

low oil pressure, assuming whatever gauge you are using is accurate..., is typically due to worn bearings. A HV or HP pump won't fix that but you may buy some time with one.

You could just run heavier weight oil as a band aide and or install a higher pressure spring in your existing oil pump. Melling makes higher pressure springs

I would try calling Summit Racing or Jegs. They can advise you.
